Designing an Itinerary Building Experience
The Experience Abu Dhabi App aimed to let travelers and residents build their own itineraries using the Visit Abu Dhabi content ecosystem. My responsibility was to translate this into a wireframed structure that felt fluid, smart, and human.

Learning from Playlists, Not Planners
Most itinerary apps feel like spreadsheets in disguise. Instead of copying them, I studied apps that people love using daily—Spotify, dating apps, and AI-powered recommendation tools—to understand how delight and discovery are built. Those insights shaped an experience centered on curation, not checklists.

A Framework for Future Journeys
By mapping interaction flows from non-travel apps, I designed a “smart itinerary builder” that behaves more like a recommendation engine than a form. The wireframes introduced modular discovery states, swipe gestures, and AI-assisted suggestions that respond to user behavior and mood.
The final wireframes became the foundation for the app’s UI. The client approved the structure with almost no revisions—praising the natural flow and intuitive exploration. It laid the groundwork for a scalable design system and an experience that feels as enjoyable to plan as it is to live.
